Broc 3 - Cover Me Impressed
Everybody’s Dressin’ Funny … Cover Me Impressed!

It angers me to no end when someone has the gall to suggest that Neil was not the definitive creative genius behind Buffalo Springfield. The rest of the band could sing and play but simply did not have the creative chops to write the kind of lyrics and deliver those lyrics in such a unique way as Neil, which is what made this band a powerhouse. Evidence? “Broken Arrow”, “Burned”, Do I Have To Come Right Out And Say It?”, “Down to the Wire”, “Expecting to Fly”, “Flying on the Ground is Wrong”, “I Am a Child”, “Mr. Soul”, “On the Way Home” … Enough said! This band would simply not have been considered great, let alone wildly influential, without Neil’s brilliance and creativity!!!

By far Stephen Stills’ greatest accomplishment. Come to think of it, probably Stills’ only real accomplishment. But at least it was a really good one …

Marc Carroll vs. Girl In A Coma

space

Marc Carroll:

Interesting piano piece, hauntingly riffing “After The Gold Rush” in the background of the song.

Girl In A Coma:

For a girl supposedly in a coma, Nina Diaz can sure belt out a tune and kick out the jams!

Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. Only one cover tune will live to play another day and it is your solemn responsibility to decide which one prevails. So tell me … Which Side Are You On?!!?

Also, keep in mind that if you should spontaneously self-actualize while playing a cover then you could – and probably should – nominate it for Top 10 (i.e. “Impeccable”) consideration.
