Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. It is your solemn responsibility to decide which cover song prevails. In other words … Which Side Are You On!??!

If push came to shove and I had to pick my top three favorite punk songs of all time, this one would be in the top 3 for sure, and quite possibly inhabit the number 1 spot. It cannot be improved upon.

I liked Rappresaglia’s version a lot. It’s so sloppy, so messy, so punky that I just couldn’t help approving, and I expected it to get my vote (notwithstanding the weird minute of silence at the end of the video). But the collaborative version at the end was just so perfectly executed, with everyone (especially the drummer) playing their respective parts so well that It won me over, and I succumbed. (The classical version is just a gimmick; no need to even mention it.)

Such a classic … Pure Angst Personified!!! The RUC dog of repression is barking at your feet … just phenomenal songwriting!

Rappresaglia certainly has the attitude and blast of sound down. I liked it, a lot!

I love the London Punkharmonic Orchestra. Such a bizarre and pleasurable experience to hear punk classics in a classical sense. A+++ for creativity!!

Can’t complain about the Toy Dolls’ supergroup’s superb sound and efforts. And you gotta love a female furiously beating the skins on this classic punk rocker!

Unprecedented on CMI .. A Tie!!! Rappresaglia and the Toy Dolls Titans in a dead heat. Gonna go with the underdog Italian lads on this one.

Rappresaglia not bad overall. Sound is a little muddy, but that’s not always a problem when covering a punk song.

The classical cover was pretty pointless. I want credit for listening to the entire piece.

Punk All-Stars are a runaway winner today, and I knew it from the first sounds from Olga’s guitar. Surprisingly good overall, and the singer also nails it.

Nice to hear this iconic song. The first release by Stiff Little Fingers, months before their debut album. Never heard of Rappresaglia but their version is high energy, clamorously live sounding and ragged and tough as punk of this era should be. Also though not particularly played and sung extremely well. London Philharmonic was an interesting and smirky diversion but really WTF? An easy vote for the disconnected All Stars. They put those parts together impressively. Kudos, bitches!
