Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band feat. Nils Lofgren:

Bruce Springsteen opened his concert at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn on April 23, 2016, with a tribute cover of “Purple Rain”. This performance occurred two days after Prince’s death on April 21, 2016. The show featured the stage bathed in purple light, and the band delivered the song as an opener rather than their usual setlist, featuring a notable guitar solo by Nils Lofgren.

Fun Fact: Prince’s Purple Rain held the Number One spot on the Billboard 200 album chart for 24 consecutive weeks before finally being surpassed by Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A.

Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. It is your solemn responsibility to decide which cover song prevails. In other words … Which Side Are You On!??!B
