Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. Only one cover tune will live to play another day and it is your solemn responsibility to decide which one prevails. So tell me … Which Side Are You On?!!?

Also, keep in mind that if you should spontaneously self-actualize while playing a cover then you could – and probably should – nominate it for Top 10 (i.e. “Impeccable”) consideration.

Rich, Sorry but I can’t vote on this one – I do not like this song in ANY version.

Another tough call. Both versions are very similar and faithful to the original. I’m giving it to the Cynics by the slightest of margins simply because they sound a little more maniacal, which is key to the song.

I did not know this song. I will have to look up what year it came out but it almost immediately struck me as reminiscent of the first Stooges album but obviously preceding it. Primal, simple, grinding sludge of the id. Furthers my impression of The Troggs. First version played right to The Iggy connection: live, raw and crude-perfect for this song. The second one seemed muted by production and performance a bit except in parts. Just past halfway a breakthrough energizes the song then it slides back into the norm, then it finishes strong again. All versions good by me.
