I really think Steve Tyrell’s version here is the best. But I think this song is so boring that I’m voting for the Replacements because their cover is the shortest.
Somehow, this song makes all of the bands that cover it sound worse. All three versions were a mild form of torture, with Los Lobos being the least repellent, in my opinion.
I voted for The Replacements. Can’t really articulate why other than they are one of my favorite bands of the ’80s.
I liked the Replacements version the best.
