Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. It is your solemn responsibility to decide which cover song prevails. In other words … Which Side Are You On!??!

What a wonderful song! I danced with my mother at my wedding to it.
While all three covers are wonderful in there own way, this one is not in doubt. Demi-Gods, Nick and Shane, exchange verses with beauteous aplomb. Just a gorgeous presentation. Love the part when Nick and Shane shake hands.
I assumed I’d vote Shane, and that’s what’s expected of me by the masses. I have a CD single of that collaboration, but I had never seen that video.
But I found myself tappin’ my toes to (and voting for) the up-tempo, drum-driven treatment offered by Joey Ramone.
Great song. I’m fans of all the cover artists, so I thought this would be a tough one, but nah.
Joey’s version is great. Some songs don’t take very well to being Ramonified, but this one does, and I liked it a lot.
Don’t know who Dan Zanes is, but I’m certainly a big fan of Lou’s. This version was meh. Not bad, but nothing to write home about.
Definitely giving it to Nick and Shane. Really great cover, and great video as well. Nick’s voice is superb here, as is Shane’s. Two guys with a reputation for debauchery, sitting nicely side by side, crooning away. A sight to behold.
I listened to Joey Ramone first and thought that he would win the day. Surprising how well the song adapted to the Ramonification. Then to have Lou Reed, who has written some of the darkest and most cynical characters to ever lurk in an alley, sing this song of bliss is almost surreal. Then to the well-worn version with Cave and Shane. Guess I’ll never tire of it. They sound so sincere and dialed in. Every syllable just rings true. An unexpected classic.
