Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. It is your solemn responsibility to decide which cover song prevails. In other words … Which Side Are You On!??!
Disclaimer: Votes cast from Florida may or may not be counted.
I really hate Led Zeppelin. Just don’t get the appeal. But I know some on the blog like them and I’ve got a handful of covers for them. So it goes.
I voted Dread Zeppelin simply because their version sounded the least like the original.
I’ve heard other material from Dread Zeppelin that I liked, so I assumed I’d vote for them. But I found this version tedious.
Jack Russell’s Great White sounded too similar to the original.
The most interesting thing on these covers was the drumming by Doxomedon, so they get my vote despite the vocals.
I didn’t like any of the covers. I voted for Bill Clinton on Molly fronting the Butthole Surfers. Oh, that’s Dread Zeppelin. At least their cover has imagination. The joke dies almost two minutes before the song does. Great White tries to carbon copy the original which is a strategy that is doomed to fail. The metal version had some good aspects but that Satan farting vocal style is abominable.
Completely agree about the metal vocals.
I love Zeppelin, and I like the song, but this one was tough because I really disliked all three covers. I thought I might like Dread Zeppelin because I like reggae, but I didn’t like this metal-reggae, and I didn’t like the Elvis impersonator vocals. Doxomedon’s music was okay, but I couldn’t get past the horrible vocals. I went with Jack Russell because I’m a veterinarian and a Jack Russell is a breed of dog.
Nobody covers Zeppelin better than Dread..
Yeah, Dread all the way. I had this album.
