Not a big Cheap Trick fan but I do like this song a lot.

Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. It is your solemn responsibility to decide which cover song prevails. In other words … Which Side Are You On!??!
Disclaimer: Votes cast from Florida may or may not be counted.
The first two bands were too similar to the original, but Less Than Jake’s up-tempo rendering gets today’s vote.
Good song. I think it’s rare for a band of any lasting substance to have their best known song also be their best song. I went back and listened to their first four albums several times this year and I feel that they are consistently pretty good but rarely better than that. Pegboy? I don’t know why anyone would want to be known as Pegboy, butt…they didn’t reinvent the power pop wheel but they also didn’t fuck it up. Drummer properly hyped, extra chomp on the guitar chords. I liked it. Probably the least impressive cover by First To Eleven. After Pegboy they sounded anemic. Slow and reserved. Outside of Bam Bam on drums it looked like a lip sync video op. Less Than Jake- stop start staccato slap shot. Speed, whiskey, jumping on couches, yelling, cursing, swinging limbs for the win.
Such a catchy tune!
Pegboy delivers a solid straightforward cover.
First to Eleven also offers a straightforward power pop rendition. However, Audra being one of the hottest women on the planet sets them apart.
As always, Less than Jake puts forth a first-rate cover. However, I was hoping for some ska influence out of them here.
All perfectly fine covers but Audra and gang got my vote (as I continue to salivate …)
Pegboy got my vote. Less than Jake made me want them to be a bit more intense, like say Pegboy for instance. the drumming is what grabbed me the most, so clear, staccato, violent. It was one of the better drum solos I’ve heard and usually I don’t even acknowledge the drums in music, but here it demanded recognition. Audra is quite the beauty though
Who doesn’t like this song? A perpetual favorite. I gave it to Pegboy for their aggressive cover. Love the crunchy guitars and bashing on the skins. First to Eleven’s cover was sub par. Less than Jake fell somewhere in the middle.
