Sinead’s most impressive composition? I would argue so. Simply baffling that it was left off of her ‘best of’ album!

Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. It is your solemn responsibility to decide which cover song prevails. In other words … Which Side Are You On!??!

Such a touching song. As I have said, I feel this was Sinead at her very best.

The Nields’ harmonies on this song are superb. Very worthy of consideration for my vote.

Just love North Green’s total reinvention of the song. Opening is reminiscent to me of Dylan’s “Hurricane”.

I have a growing love of Amanda Palmer’s solo work. Her delivery is always so heartfelt and her choice of songs to cover is impeccable.

Have to go with North Green’s bold interpretation of this powerful song.

I’ve always liked Sinead and I continued to root for her even after she went a little batty. I listened to her memoir as an audiobook, with her narrating the whole thing. Made me like her even more. Her first album (The Lion and the Cobra) was amazing, but her follow-up was even better. This song is one of the strongest on the album. The Nields’ version gave me literal chills and I had to pick them, even though Jack and Amanda Palmer’s version was really superb. It was pretty much a tossup between the two. This song is all about the lyrics, and in North Green’s crunchy version, the lyrics get overridden. But it was a good, too.

This one is a long time favorite of mine. You can’t touch the original. Few have both the power and the passion she possessed. Hard to be powerful at a stately pace. This song never got much attention. Likely new to some here. North Green brought an inventive arrangement. Greta Van Fleet popped into my head for a moment. Amanda was solid but I voted for The Nields. Nice blended voices on this reverent cover.
