Amazing how many excellent covers there are for this relatively little-known gem.

Caitlin Wants Pudding (i.e., Atlanta Hometown Heroes Anne Richmond Boston and Big Fish Ensemble):
Yep, that’s Anne Richmond Boston of the legendary cult band, Swimming Pool Q’s.

Oh the disharmony! Much like Harlan County there are no neutrals here. It is your solemn responsibility to decide which cover song prevails. In other words … Which Side Are You On!??!

Another tough decision today. All three stayed close to the original. All three were decent. I liked the understated pedal steel guitar in the first cover. Ultimately voted for act three. Nice subdued fiddle and vocal harmonies.
Ledger and Andrews deliver a respectable cover, although nothing to write home about.
I very much liked Pat Guadagno’s version, although what an unlikely looking fellow to be covering Bob (kind of looked to me that he should be covering Burl Ives with rock ‘n’ roll spin).
The Atlanta entourage by far in this one. Michael Lorant and Anne Richmond Boston’s vocals are superb and Sheila Doyle’s violin work is divine.
