I didn’t know the original, or any of the competitors other than RBF and Billy.
I went to Allmusic to see if “Ask” appeared on any of Bragg’s albums, and didn’t find anything. ChatGPT listed it as being included on Must I Paint You a Picture? The Essential Billy Bragg. But when I checked the track listings for that release, I don’t see “Ask” listed.
I voted Billy today.
