    Richie Havens’ version meanders all over the place as if he were trying to find the right riff. It sounded like he was playing the song for the first time, just feeling it out. Terrible!

    Chrissie’s vocals are excellent on this sad song. I was not as impressed with Dave’s efforts.

    Bragg’s version was the first time that I had heard this song. He sings it so naturally, you would think that it was his own. And Cara Tivey’s background vocals are performed nicely as well. Better version than the original … world’s better than today’s competition.
